What is POS?

Point of sale (POS) or checkout is the location where a transaction occurs. A "checkout" refers to a POS terminal or more generally to the hardware and software used for checkouts, the equivalent of an electronic cash register. A POS terminal manages the selling process by a salesperson accessible interface.

What is POS automation?

POS-automation is used to be a term that describes automation of sales and discounting processes. Sales automation in most cases is a system of software and hardware tools that allow managing registering and accounting processes. POS automation saves time and money because of automation of routine manual operations.

May regular PC and PC keyboards be used for POS automation?

What POWER8 device may be used for?

Power8 modular system is meant to control power supply loads of direct current and alternate current up to 250V and up to 1kWt. POWER8 devices are typically used in gaming halls to control lightning and set pricing.

What POSUA customer displays may be used for?

Customer display produced by POSUA are meant to indicate product price, receipt amount, change amount, product name as well as show up announcements and messages un banking and POS systems.

How do your devices maintain security?

Choosing effective POS-keyboard

Do you need to enter regular text info?

If you need to set up your keyboard a full-featured texting feature in addition to specific functions then it’s good to choose 96-key or 128-key POS keyboard. If the keyboard will be used for some limited functions then keyboards with 32 keys or 64 keys will go perfectly.

How many functions needs to be assigned to different keys?

POSUA keyboards allow you to create 3 keyboard layouts and assign every single key to a special function. When programming a keyboard it’s possible to use various key combinations. When choosing a keyboard you should keep in mind that it’s meant for using by a human being and so programmed device should be usable. That is why the pick must be defined by the optimal solution between expected functionality and number of keys.

Is it possible to program every single key?

Yes.

Is it possible to combine a few buttons into one and make one large button for the most used operations?
Yes, sure. You can set up custom large buttons of the following format: 1x2, 2x1 and 2x2. If you would like to get the buttons with laser graving please contact our sales.
Do you need magnetic stripe reader?
If you plan to use magnetic cards in your business it would be wise to install programmable POS keyboard that already has a magnetic stripe reader integrated. Such device takes not much space and serves well just like it were 2 separate devices.
What size of keyboard would be perfect?

Size of a keyboard depends on the number of keys. Keyboards with 32 keys are the smallest and keyboard with 128 keys and has integrated MSR are the biggest. When choosing keyboard size one should consider expected functionality (needed number of keys). When planning business automation one should keep in mind user-friendliness of the entire POS system. Keyboard should fit well working place that operator could enter data instantly. Space for hands is one more thing to think about.

Is there any way to protect keyboard from moisture and dust?
For businesses that work in adverse environment (excessive humidity, dust, aggressive agents effect etc.) POSUA produces keyboards of the protected type of LPOS series. Flat solid sensor face panel protects Omron key switches from dirt moist and other stuff that may have bad effect on working mechanism.
Will keyboard be used to provide security and access control?
If you need to limit access to POS system or any confidential data it would be wise to set up POS keyboard with integrated fingerprint scanner. Fingerprint scanner indentifies a person by unique biometric features that blocks unauthorized access to the system.
